About the wine maker
Tasmanian-born James Broinowski completed his bachelor of viticulture and oenology at the University of Adelaide in ’13. Small Island was born and James has gone from strength to strength creating some of Tasmania's best wines.
Saltwater River
Located on the Tasman peninsula, south-east of Hobart is the small convict out-post of Saltwater River. I was fortunate to form a partnership with the Hoyles in 2018, becoming their winemaker and also purchasing the majority of fruit for Small Island.
