Shipping Policy

Thank you for shopping at www.smallislandwines.com. The following terms make up our Shipping Policy.

What it costs

$20 flat rate anywhere we deliver, and free shipping on a dozen standard bottles or more.

A dozen costs us barely more to freight than six, so the free-shipping threshold reflects a real saving rather than a discount we have invented.

Free freight is worked out by parcel weight rather than by counting bottles, and the threshold is set at the weight of a dozen 750 ml bottles. A dozen standard bottles therefore always ships free. Half-bottles and 375 ml releases weigh about half as much, so a dozen of those makes a much smaller parcel and still attracts the $20 rate. If your order mixes the two and you think it should have shipped free, email us and we will sort it out.

Where we ship

We ship anywhere in Australia except the Northern Territory. Freight to the Territory costs more than the wine itself, so we do not offer it, and an NT delivery address will not return a shipping option at checkout.

We do not currently ship internationally.

Dispatch and delivery

Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. We do not dispatch on weekends or public holidays. If we are unusually busy, or if a delay is significant, we will contact you by email or telephone.

We send with Australia Post. Transit time depends on the destination: metropolitan addresses are quickest, and rural and remote deliveries take noticeably longer. Tracking details are sent once your order is dispatched.

Delivery of alcohol

It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years. Alcohol must not be delivered to a minor. By placing an order you confirm that you and the person receiving the delivery are both 18 years or over, and a signature may be required on delivery.

Damaged or missing orders

If your wine arrives damaged, please keep the packaging and contact us with photographs as soon as you can. If a parcel has not arrived within the expected window, contact us with your order number and we will follow it up with the carrier.
